Roblox Appoints Joel Neoh as Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania
Brickinfo News Agency – Roblox has appointed entrepreneur and investor Joel Neoh as its Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Oceania, establishing him as the company's senior business lead across both regions. Neoh, who stepped into the role in October, oversees market strategy, regional partnerships, developer ecosystem development, and alignment between global initiatives and local market demands.
In this position, Neoh leads efforts to expand developer support across Southeast Asia and Oceania, assisting regional game studios in leveraging Roblox creation tools for commercial distribution while driving brand awareness and platform safety initiatives among users and parents.
"I’ve spent my career building companies across this region, and I’ve seen first-hand the creativity, optimism and entrepreneurial energy here," Neoh stated regarding his appointment. "We have an opportunity to help a new generation of creators across Southeast Asia and Oceania turn ideas into experiences, communities and businesses that can reach the world. As we grow, keeping young people safe and working closely with parents, regulators and local communities will remain central to everything we do."
Zhen Fang, VP of International at Roblox, noted that the appointment reflects the company's regional expansion strategy within the broader Asia-Pacific market. "South East Asia and Oceania are important regions for Roblox within APAC, with a vibrant and fast-growing community of creators and players," Fang said. "Joel has built and scaled businesses across the region for two decades and his entrepreneurial experience and strong ties to the local tech ecosystem make him the right leader to guide the next phase of our growth across these regions."
Neoh brings two decades of executive experience in building and scaling technology enterprises across digital media, e-commerce, fintech, and consumer health. Prior to joining Roblox, he founded GroupsMore, which was acquired by Groupon, where he subsequently served as head of Groupon Asia Pacific. He later established the Southeast Asian fintech platform Fave, scaling the service past 10 million users prior to its acquisition by Pine Labs in 2021. Neoh also previously served as Managing Director at Prenetics and is a Founding Partner of early-stage venture fund First Move.
