True Corporation Urges True and dtac Customers to Check SIM Registration Status via *165*6# Under NBTC Regulations
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has announced measures to align with regulations set by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), urging all True and dtac mobile subscribers to verify their SIM card registration status free of charge by dialing the USSD code 1656#.
The verification process applies to both prepaid and postpaid subscribers to ensure that user identity records remain accurate and secure against telecommunications fraud. Subscribers whose documentation is already verified and complete require no additional action. Those flagged with incomplete details can submit updates digitally via the True App or visit a True Shop or dtac Shop in person.
According to Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Regulatory and Government Relations Officer of True Corporation Plc., maintaining accurate SIM registration data strengthens network security and mitigates risks associated with fraudulent mobile activities.
Subscribers checking their status via 1656# will receive one of three system responses:
- Complete: Documentation is valid, requiring no further action.
- Incomplete: Information or identification documents need updating via official channels.
- Under Review: Verification is in progress, and users should re-check later without resubmitting data prematurely.

Subscribers updating records via the True App must navigate to the registration update section, input their Thai national ID card or foreign passport details, verify access through an SMS one-time password (OTP), upload original identity documents, and complete facial recognition through an electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process with liveness detection. Verification results take approximately seven days, after which users can confirm completion via 1656#.
Alongside the verification drive, the operator launched a promotional campaign offering smartphone prizes totaling over THB 1.7 million for eligible subscribers who complete required updates between November 1, 2026, and February 28, 2027.
True Corporation also warned consumers against potential scam operations impersonating official verification platforms, advising users to rely solely on 1656#, the True App, or physical service branches, and reminding customers never to disclose OTPs, account passwords, or personal financial details to third parties.
