Thailand’s AIS Secures Exclusive Rights to Livestream WNBA Games Starting Historic 30th Season
Brickinfo News Agency – AIS, Thailand’s largest mobile operator, has secured a multiyear partnership with the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) to become the official livestreaming provider for the league in Thailand. Starting with the historic 30th season on May 9, Thai fans will have access to select regular-season matches, playoff games, and marquee league events via the AIS PLAY streaming platform.
The collaboration represents the most expansive distribution of WNBA content ever seen in the Thai market, building upon AIS’s existing relationship with the NBA. Under the agreement, paid subscribers will be able to watch high-profile events including the WNBA Draft, WNBA All-Star game, and the WNBA Finals during the 2026, 2027, and 2029 seasons. To cater to the local audience, AIS has confirmed that select games and major events will feature Thai commentary.
Rungtip Jarusiripipat, Head of Entertainment Department at AIS, stated that the WNBA represents the pinnacle of women’s basketball and plays a crucial role in elevating sports standards globally. “Collaborating with the WNBA marks a significant milestone for AIS as we expand access to world-class sports content through AIS PLAY,” she said. She added that the move ensures Thai fans can access games through legitimate platforms, supporting the company’s vision of becoming an integrated entertainment provider.
The partnership comes during a period of record growth for women’s basketball. Colie Edison, WNBA Chief Growth Officer, noted that the league is seeing significant global momentum. “We look forward to working together to bring the excitement of the WNBA closer than ever to fans in Thailand during the league’s milestone 30th season and beyond,” Edison remarked.
Viewers in Thailand can access the coverage through PLAY Sports Channels 55, 56, and 57 on the AIS PLAY application. The service is available across various monthly subscription tiers, including a dedicated NBA package and broader sports bundles that include other international leagues such as the NFL, English Premier League, and ATP Tour.
