Ministry of Defence, AIS, and DGA Partner to Train Armed Forces in AI and Cyber Resilience

Brickinfo News Agency – The Ministry of Defence, Advanced Info Service (AIS), and the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) have launched a joint program to provide artificial intelligence and cyber resilience training to military personnel and their families, aiming to modernize Thailand’s national defence capabilities.

The partnership, formalized under the Cyber Resilience and Artificial Intelligence Capability Development Program for Armed Forces Personnel and Their Families, focuses on improving operational data management, cyber awareness, and digital literacy. Military staff and government officers will access coursework through DGA’s digital platform, which integrates the AIS Aunjai Cyber AI literacy curriculum into the official state workforce development framework. In addition, instructional roadshows will take place across units of the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, and Royal Thai Air Force nationwide to expand practical training delivery.

Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, stated that emerging technologies now play a central role in security operations, strategic decision-making, and risk management. He explained that the Ministry of Defence is implementing a digital defence policy to transition the armed forces into a data-driven organization. The ministry’s workforce strategy outlines training targets across multiple tiers, including general tool users, strategic advisers, executive decision-makers, and technical system developers, to ensure personnel can identify digital risks and utilize modern software in core missions.

Kantima Lerlertyuttitham, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Corporate Officer at AIS, highlighted that national competitiveness in the digital era depends heavily on workforce upskilling. AIS is deploying resources via the AIS Academy and AIS Aunjai Cyber channels to support technical training across all military regions. This framework gives military personnel, their dependents, and the general public structured digital learning materials to build practical proficiency and cyber awareness.

Airada Luangvilai, Senior Executive Vice President and Acting President & CEO of the DGA, noted that government workforce readiness is the key component in public-sector technology adoption. Through the Thailand Digital Government Academy (TDGA), the agency provides courses covering data governance, applied AI, and ethical standards via its online portal, awarding official certificates upon completion. The tripartite initiative aims to institutionalize digital continuous learning across armed forces personnel to align defence operations with modern technological standards.
