Thai Economic Crime Police Raid Warehouse, Seize Over 16,000 Counterfeit Memory Cards
Brickinfo News Agency – Officers from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) raided a warehouse in Pathum Thani province, seizing more than 16,000 counterfeit memory cards and flash drives that falsely advertised storage capacity and posed data corruption risks to consumers.

The operation, led by Sub-Division 1 of the Economic Crime Suppression Division, followed multiple consumer complaints regarding defective digital storage products purchased from online marketplaces. Consumers reported that the acquired flash drives and memory cards failed to operate properly, provided significantly lower capacity than advertised, or malfunctioned upon connection.

Investigators coordinated with trademark representatives to trace the suspect online vendors back to a storage facility in Khlong Song subdistrict, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province. Authorities subsequently secured a court-issued search warrant to inspect the site, discovering that the warehouse had been modified into a dedicated storage and packing hub.
During the search, officers found that parcels were wrapped in black stretch film to resemble waste piles in an effort to evade detection. Law enforcement seized a total of 16,245 fake memory cards bearing counterfeit trademarks of major technology brands, including SanDisk, Kingston, Xiaomi, OPPO, HP, and FNKvision.

Warehouse staff informed officers that the operation is owned and managed by a foreign investor. Investigators are expanding their inquiry to identify the suppliers, distributors, and financial backers behind the distribution network to pursue legal action under applicable intellectual property laws.
Authorities have advised consumers to exercise caution when purchasing digital storage media online, particularly products offered at unusually low prices from unverified sellers. Defective and counterfeit memory cards not only fail quality standards but also risk permanent data corruption and unrecoverable data loss.
