True Digital Park Partners with Chulalongkorn University and Global Institutions to Launch Four-Nation Innovation District Alliance

Brickinfo News Agency – True Digital Park has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University (ARCH CU) and international partners to establish the Global Innovation District Alliance: Cross-Regional Collaboration for Next Generation Innovation Districts in Thailand, aimed at developing data-driven innovation districts and commercial testbeds across the region.

The agreement connects academic, research, and urban planning institutions across Thailand, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the Netherlands. Presided over by Danuporn Punnakan, Vice Minister for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the signing ceremony took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center during the Techsauce Global Summit 2026. The project forms an integral component of an 18-month national research initiative titled “Innovation Ecosystem Development for Entrepreneurship and Startups: A Cross-Regional Analysis of EU, UK, and Asian Best Practices,” supported by funding from the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC).

Under the partnership framework, each participating international entity contributes specific structural models to the Thai innovation ecosystem. The University of Strathclyde provides the Glasgow City Innovation District model to advance technology transfer and researcher exchanges, Singapore Management University (SMU) facilitates bilateral talent development and venture corridors, and the Eindhoven International Project Office (EIPO) integrates the Brainport Eindhoven blueprint to guide industry-led deep-tech clustering and collaborative exchange programs.

Domestically, ARCH CU provides urban design and spatial planning research, while the Chulalongkorn University Innovation Hub (CU Innovation Hub) focuses on research commercialization and startup acceleration. True Digital Park functions as the private-sector infrastructure hub, designating the South Sukhumvit innovation district as an active living laboratory to test solutions in strategic sectors including Future Food, HealthTech, and Green Innovation.

Sasithorn Varanyuwatana, General Manager of True Digital Park, stated that the multi-nation alliance establishes direct international corridors to connect startups, investors, and talent with commercial testbeds in Southeast Asia. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panit Pujinda, Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Chulalongkorn University, noted that applying proven structural models from Glasgow, Jurong, and Brainport to local urban centers helps bridge the gap between academic research and commercial market integration.

The alliance plans to formally present its actionable framework and outline a 10-Year National Innovation District Policy Roadmap at The Futurist Summit in November 2026 to further guide domestic urban and technological development.
