Grab Thailand Expands Grab Quick Cash Nationwide with Raised Loan Limits and Extended Terms
Brickinfo News Agency – Grab Thailand has announced plans to expand its digital nano-finance lending product, Grab Quick Cash, to major provinces across the country during the third quarter. The expansion includes an increase in the maximum loan limit from 20,000 baht to 30,000 baht and an extension of the maximum repayment tenure from six months to nine months to improve financial accessibility for consumers.
The move follows a four-month pilot program in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, which began in April. The service provides an entirely digital application process through the Grab app, requiring no paper documentation and offering automated loan approvals for income-generating activities.
According to internal borrower data collected during the pilot phase, consumers aged 30 to 45—often referred to as the Sandwich Generation—account for more than 60% of total borrowers. This demographic is followed by Generation X users aged 46 and older, and First Jobbers aged 20 to 29 who typically seek funding to finance business equipment or supplemental income initiatives.
The data further revealed cautious borrowing patterns among users, with over 80% of applicants choosing not to take the full credit line offered. On average, borrowers drew down approximately 70% of their approved limit, with nearly half borrowing 15,000 baht or less. Furthermore, roughly 70% of users opted for loan tenures between five and six months, resulting in average monthly installments ranging from 2,400 baht to 2,500 baht.
Phurush Ongsri, Head of Financial Services at Grab Thailand, stated that user insights collected from surveys and borrowing trends will guide the ongoing rollout. Over 70% of older demographic groups utilized the funds for daily liquidity, emergency reserves, and existing business expansion, while younger borrowers primarily used the credit as operational start-up capital.
The regional expansion will target key provinces across Thailand, including Chiang Mai, Chonburi, and Khon Kaen, as Grab continues to scale its digital financial services portfolio nationwide.
