Thailand’s True Corporation Confirms Network Resilience Amid Middle East Undersea Cable Disruptions
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has issued a formal assurance regarding the stability of its international internet services despite ongoing developments in the Middle East that pose potential risks to undersea cable systems. The Thai telecommunications giant confirmed that its network architecture is designed with multiple layers of redundancy and diversified routing paths, ensuring that connectivity in Thailand remains unaffected. By utilizing global partnerships and independent infrastructure, the company maintains service continuity even when major international paths face technical challenges.
Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Network Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, stated, “Our teams are closely monitoring developments related to undersea cable systems and have activated a dedicated war room to ensure proactive network management around the clock. True’s network is designed with diversified routing across multiple layers and does not rely on any single international path. This allows us to dynamically manage and reroute traffic based on real-time conditions.” He further noted that global partners have confirmed sufficient bandwidth capacity to support continued service delivery, allowing customers to remain confident in the stability of their connection.
A critical component of this resilience is the SJC2 (Southeast Asia–Japan Cable 2) system, which connects Singapore and Japan. This infrastructure operates independently of the regions currently experiencing disruptions, remaining fully operational. Additionally, True maintains connections with over 30 peering partners and 9 transit partners, all of which are Tier 1 global providers. This extensive network allows for automatic rerouting through alternative paths across Asia and Europe in the event of a localized failure.
The company’s past performance serves as a benchmark for its current readiness. In September 2025, when multiple cable systems in the Persian Gulf—including SMW4, IMEWE, FALCON, and EIG—suffered significant disruptions, True’s services remained unaffected. This was due to the fact that less than 5% of True’s total internet traffic is currently routed through the Middle East and Europe, significantly limiting the impact of regional outages on the broader network.
To maintain this level of service, True’s Network Operations Team continues to monitor global internet conditions 24/7. This proactive approach ensures that any potential fluctuations in performance are addressed immediately. The company remains focused on providing high-quality digital services through its diversified infrastructure, ensuring that Thai users stay connected to the global internet without interruption.
