True Corporation and NBTC partner to upgrade mobile infrastructure resilience for natural disasters, joining the DDPM National Crisis Management Exercise 2026.

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has partnered with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to implement a comprehensive network resilience plan designed to secure mobile base stations and telecommunication infrastructure during natural disasters. The initiative aims to guarantee continuous communication services for the public and emergency responders during crises, while establishing localized safety protocols based on real-world flood data.

As part of the operational rollout, representatives from True Corporation and the NBTC conducted a joint field assessment in the Hat Yai District of Songkhla Province. This location was selected to analyze data and structural lessons from the severe flooding that impacted the region during the previous year. The technical findings from this field visit will serve as a foundational blueprint to upgrade network infrastructure in other high-risk, flood-prone provinces across Thailand, including Nan, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

Mr. Narupon Rattanasamaharn, Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs Division at True Corporation Plc., alongside the corporate network engineering division, managed the site evaluation alongside Mr. Sutisak Tantayotin, NBTC Deputy Secretary-General for Telecommunications. The joint technical team audited current facility vulnerabilities to formalize direct mitigation strategies against prolonged severe weather anomalies.

The newly established infrastructure enhancement framework prioritizes structural and electrical fortifications at high-risk mobile base stations. Key upgrades include the deployment of extended backup power systems, localized physical flood barriers, and diversified network redundancy pathways. Furthermore, specialized technical teams and mobile emergency equipment have been placed on a 24-hour standby rotation to perform rapid recovery operations in affected zones.

These technical reinforcements are designed to maintain critical communication channels, support early emergency alert systems, and stabilize inter-agency coordination channels during large-scale disasters. By preventing communication blackouts, the infrastructure upgrades aim to support government rescue operations and maintain public access to emergency services when standard grids fail.

Simultaneously, True Corporation integrated its communication framework into the National Crisis Management Exercise 2026, managed by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM). The nationwide simulation evaluated the operational readiness of private telecommunication networks during a simulated national crisis, verifying real-time data transmission speeds and cross-agency communication channels under extreme emergency conditions.
