True Corporation Bolsters 5G Network for Phi Ta Khon Festival in Loei

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation is enhancing its 5G and 4G network capabilities to provide high-speed internet connectivity for the upcoming 2025 Bun Luang Festival and Phi Ta Khon celebration. The festival, scheduled from June 28 to 30 in Dan Sai District, Loei, is expected to draw a large number of both domestic and international tourists. The network upgrades aim to support the event’s connectivity demands, aligning with efforts to promote Thailand’s “soft power” through cultural festivals in the Isan region.

Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology and Information Security Officer of True Corporation Plc., stated that the company prioritizes supporting Thailand’s soft power initiatives, particularly in the Isan region, which is known for its arts, culture, traditions, and tourist attractions. He highlighted the importance of strengthening 5G and 4G networks for major cultural events like the Bun Luang and Phi Ta Khon Festival in Loei, an event that attracts numerous visitors. Network improvements are focused on key areas, including the Dan Sai District Office, parade assembly and viewing areas, performance stages, and the road leading to Wat Phon Chai, the parade’s endpoint. These enhancements are intended to ensure tourists have access to high-speed communication for social media use, livestreaming, and sharing their experiences, thereby promoting Thai culture globally.

True’s network enhancement measures for both Thai and international visitors include the deployment of mobile base stations (Cell-On-Wheels: COWs), the installation of temporary signal towers, and signal parameter adjustments based on user behavior. Additionally, on-site network engineering teams will be present throughout the event to provide support. 5G and 4G coverage has also been expanded along transportation routes and in tourist areas within Loei province. The Business Network Intelligent Center (BNIC) will provide 24-hour support, utilizing AI-powered network monitoring and management.

Mr. Prathet further commented on the anticipated high attendance at the festival, assuring that True and dtac customers will experience seamless network performance for sharing photos, uploading videos, and livestreaming during the event. The Bun Luang and Phi Ta Khon Festival is recognized both nationally and internationally for its unique Phi Ta Khon masks, crafted from coconut husks and featuring vibrant colors and intricate patterns that reflect local Isan traditions and Buddhist beliefs.

Mr. Prathet concluded that these network preparations for cultural festivals not only improve the mobile experience for attendees but also contribute to the promotion of cultural tourism and strengthen Thailand’s soft power on a global scale. The improved communication technology aims to allow True and dtac customers attending this significant northeastern cultural event to remain connected and share their experiences from the 2025 Bun Luang and Phi Ta Khon Festival.
