SCGC Launches AI Workshop to Boost Rayong Community Enterprises
Brickinfo News Agency – SCG Chemicals (SCGC) has organized a workshop in Rayong, Thailand, to teach members of local community enterprises how to use AI tools to improve their product marketing and sales. The initiative, held in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus, provided practical training to over 50 participants, aiming to strengthen the local economy and reduce social inequality. The workshop is part of SCGC’s ESG objectives, focusing on empowering communities to be self-reliant and competitive in the digital market.
The program, titled “Design Attractive Products and Boost Sales with the Power of AI,” covered a range of topics including generating product images, creating promotional materials, and developing marketing strategies. Participants learned how to apply software and advanced techniques to create unique and appealing content for their products, which they can then use on online platforms to reach new customers. The training also included lessons on data analysis and efficient document summarization using AI.
According to Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and Social Inclusion Director of SCGC, the company prioritizes “developing and enhancing community enterprises through the principle of self-reliance.” He stated that the workshop helps communities “adapt and learn new skills to cope with change, creating opportunities to compete in the digital market, generate income and strengthen the community economy sustainably.”
The university’s Assistant to the President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitirat Thawornsujaritkul, noted that AI is a key trend for entrepreneurs. She emphasized that the university was “pleased to collaborate with SCGC on this initiative to develop AI skills for community enterprises” and is ready to offer further support for participants in digital marketing and integrating AI solutions into their operations.
Participants in the workshop shared their positive experiences. Prakong Koedmongkon, President of the Textile Products Community Enterprise, found that AI significantly reduced her workload in product development. She said, “It serves as an assistant in creating diverse and modern product designs that better meet the preferences of younger target groups… In this session, I have learned additional methods and new formats to further enhance and add appeal to what we already have.” Pol. Lt. Col. Sangwan Yangdee, President of Ban Khai Agricultural Cooperative Limited, added that using AI is not difficult if one is open to learning. He mentioned that the cooperative is moving towards greater digitalization and believes AI will “be highly beneficial, both in terms of enhancing system efficiency and reducing the workload of our team.”
