The song is the first offering from an upcoming four-track EP, which is set to be promoted in Southeast Asia and Europe. Hawke’s music is known for its blend of alt-pop and electronic elements, with lyrics that explore personal themes.

“Calling Earth” incorporates a blend of synthetic and organic sounds. According to Hawke, the song is inspired by the idea of an unknown call, representing a connection that is both made and lost. She noted that the song’s middle eight features the whispered voices of her friends, which she describes as “ghosts in a machine.” The artist has previously gained attention on platforms such as BBC Radio 1 and KISS, and has accumulated millions of streams.

The single is part of an upcoming EP. Hawke plans to promote the EP with focused campaigns in Southeast Asia, specifically in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore, during September. The promotional tour will include a live performance at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium in Tarlac, Philippines.
