David Archuleta Releases New EP ‘Earthly Delights’ Exploring Queer Identity
Brickinfo News Agency – American singer-songwriter David Archuleta has released his new EP, ‘Earthly Delights’, on August 15, 2025, marking his first collection of new music in over five years. The six-track record explores themes of sensuality and personal liberation, representing a departure from the beliefs he was raised with concerning his sexuality and queer identity.
The EP follows the release of singles ‘Crème Brûlée’ and ‘Can I Call You’. The full tracklist for ‘Earthly Delights’ includes ‘Give You The World’, ‘Crème Brûlée’, ‘Can I Call You’, ‘Lucky’, ‘Home’, and ‘Dulce Amor’. A music video for ‘Dulce Amor’, a bilingual English and Spanish track, was also premiered on August 12.
In a statement about the EP, David Archuleta explained the project’s personal significance. “I’m in my indulgence mode when it comes to giving into my sensuality. Something I always villainized before… Earthly Delights is taking in the pleasures of what I always thought would keep me out of heaven,” he stated. “For the belief I always had of the hell and unhappiness I would experience for giving into my “carnal nature” of sexuality… here’s to a big F you to my old fears and embracing the sensual side and “earthly delights” of how good and rich it feels.”
The EP’s themes are rooted in Archuleta’s personal journey of questioning the beliefs from his youth, which led to a separation from his church and family. According to the release, this period allowed him to connect with his authentic queer identity and explore a wider spectrum of life experiences, including sensuality and connection.
