Nissan Launches Almera 26MY with EURO 6 Compliance and Enhanced Safety Features
Brickinfo News Agency – Nissan Thailand has officially introduced the Nissan Almera 26MY, a refreshed version of its popular compact sedan now updated to meet EURO 6 emission standards. The latest model maintains its competitive pricing while integrating a sportier aesthetic and expanding advanced safety technologies across more trim levels, specifically targeting urban drivers seeking environmental compliance and improved protection.

The transition to EURO 6 standards marks a significant technical update for the Almera’s 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. This move is designed to reduce exhaust emissions significantly compared to previous iterations. Despite the mechanical adjustments for sustainability, the powerplant continues to deliver 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, retaining the “flat torque” characteristic that provides consistent acceleration for city and highway driving.

Takaaki Yanagi, Senior Vice President of Nissan Motor Thailand, stated, “The Nissan Almera 26MY builds on these strengths with thoughtful updates. This launch underscores Nissan’s continued commitment to Thailand as we refresh our core models and keep the market excited.” He noted that the vehicle remains a choice for those prioritizing spacious comfort and practical functionality alongside the new upgrades.

Visually, the Nissan Almera 26MY receives a “Fresher, Sportier Look” through several exterior modifications. These include a black front grille, black spoiler, and a revised rear bumper cover. Higher-tier variants like the VL CVT now feature a two-tone exterior with a black roof, complemented by black door handles and darkened headlamp frames. Inside, the cabin styling has been updated with blue accents on fabric seats for base models, while premium grades receive black leather with orange stitching on the console and door panels.

Safety equipment has been bolstered, particularly on the entry-level E CVT grade, which now includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW) and Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) as standard. These systems join existing features such as the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and six airbags. The vehicle also continues to offer NissanConnect Services, allowing owners to control engine starts and door locks remotely via smartphone.
The new lineup is available in four grades, with the E CVT starting at 573,000 baht, the EL CVT at 589,000 baht, the V CVT at 669,000 baht, and the top-spec VL CVT priced at 699,000 baht. To support the launch, Nissan has introduced financial incentives including low down payment options and extended installment plans of up to 84 months.
