True Corporation Joins Global Anti-Scam Alliance to Combat Digital Fraud
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has officially joined the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) as a corporate member, aiming to strengthen digital security and address the rising threat of online fraud. This partnership underscores a strategic move to integrate Thailand into a global network of cross-sector cooperation, focusing on protecting consumers from increasingly sophisticated scams through shared intelligence and advanced technological defenses.
The collaboration comes as digital threats continue to expand in scale across the Asia-Pacific region. By joining GASA, True Corporation intends to share its domestic experience and insights with international partners to build a more secure digital ecosystem. This move is part of a broader effort to ensure that connectivity remains safe for all users, moving beyond simple service provision to proactive consumer protection on a global scale.
Watee Powtong, General Legal Counsel of True Corporation, emphasized the necessity of collective action, stating: “Scams are a global challenge. As a leading telco-tech company in Thailand, True Corporation is pleased to align with GASA’s mission to protect consumers from scams. With connectivity becoming more central to everyday life, safeguarding people in the digital world is a shared responsibility — one that requires connectivity to be not only trusted, but also safe and secure, supported by advanced, technology-enabled protections and close collaboration across industries and borders.”
The Global Anti-Scam Alliance has recognized this membership as a significant contribution to regional efforts. Brian Hanley, GASA Chapter Asia-Pacific Director, noted that scams have evolved into a coordinated digital threat. He remarked: “True Corporation has shown clear leadership in Thailand by joining as a founding member of GASA Chapter Thailand. This early commitment strengthens efforts to tackle scam compounds, telecom fraud, and online impersonation, and signals Thailand’s readiness to lead the next phase of effective scam fighting.”
To support these anti-scam initiatives, True Corporation has implemented the True CyberSafe initiative, an AI-driven network-level protection system. This technology is designed to detect and block online threats automatically for customers of True, dtac, and True Online at no additional cost. The company maintains that digital safety should be a fundamental accessibility for all users, rather than a premium service.
Beyond technological implementation, the company is pursuing a multi-dimensional strategy that involves close cooperation with the public sector and law enforcement agencies. These efforts are complemented by ongoing digital literacy programs and public education initiatives aimed at raising awareness and preventing fraud at the user level within Thailand.
