Brickinfo News Agency – Bitkub Online Co., Ltd. has issued a formal statement reassuring its users that all customer assets remain fully secured following a recent accusation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The regulatory complaint, dated July 23, 2026, targets the company and its former directors regarding the submission of false information between May and October 2021. The exchange emphasized its strict adherence to asset storage regulations and confirmed that no customers suffered financial losses from the historical incident.

The regulatory action stems from an event in early May 2021 when a cyberattack compromised one of the company’s digital asset wallets. According to the exchange, responsible personnel at the time chose not to disclose the breach to prevent a potential bank run. A sudden mass withdrawal could have caused widespread damage to both users and the broader digital asset industry in Thailand, as the company was actively resolving the issue. Despite the breach, the compromised wallet had met all required security standards and passed relevant regulatory inspections prior to the cyberattack.

To mitigate the impact, the co-founders of the Bitkub group utilized personal funds to purchase digital assets, fully replacing the stolen funds in the exact amount and currency. This intervention ensured that the company and its clients experienced zero financial damage. Furthermore, the Thai SEC previously verified on September 8, 2025, that the current digital assets held by the exchange remain safe and comprehensive. The company views this resolution as evidence of its management’s commitment to prioritizing customer protection with absolute integrity.

Since the 2021 incident, the cryptocurrency platform has heavily invested in upgrading its cybersecurity infrastructure to align with global industry standards. The exchange now holds international certifications including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 Type I, while operating under the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Furthermore, it integrates advanced security features such as Passkey technology and a Self-Freeze function, and is recognized in the global top 20 by Cer.Live. The platform also partners with world-class custodians like Bitgo Trust Company and Coinbase Custody Trust Company to securely manage user funds.

Operating with a board of qualified independent directors, the company maintains high standards of compliance and internal auditing. Transparent financial statements are publicly available for users to verify asset holdings at any time. Following the original breach, Bitkub filed a formal police report on May 10, 2021, and continues to pursue legal action against the cybercriminals. The exchange also warned against the dissemination of misleading information regarding its financial stability, stating it will take strict legal action against those who spread false rumors that could induce public misunderstanding.
