วงร็อก THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT เปิดตัวซิงเกิล "Evergreen" จากอัลบั้ม GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY - FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS: DELUXE EDITION สะท้อนความวิตกกังวลและความซับซ้อนของความรัก พร้อมความสำเร็จบนชาร์ตเพลงร็อก

Brickinfo News Agency – THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT has released “Evergreen,” a new single that delves into themes of modern anxiety and emotional vulnerability. The track is part of the 24-song deluxe edition of their second album, ‘Greetings From Suffocate City – From Beyond the Abyss: Deluxe Edition,’ which became available on June 13 through Better Noise Music.

Lee Jennings, the band’s singer and songwriter, commented on the inspiration behind “Evergreen,” stating, “It’s an attempt to put all of our anxious thoughts into one place.” He elaborated, “The song speaks to universal and painful truths—that love is the source of all suffering, and the bittersweet feelings that coincide with it.” Jennings described the lyrics as coming from “an extremely personal place and are set against a melancholy, stripped-back track that helps accent one of our most emotional hymns to date.”

“Evergreen” is one of three new songs featured on the deluxe edition, alongside “Skinny Lies” and “Lost Boy.” This expanded version also includes tracks from the ‘Cassanova EP’ and ‘From Beyond the Abyss EP,’ as well as previously released versions of “Holy Water” featuring Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, and “Hearse for Two” featuring Lilith Czar. The physical CD and vinyl versions, the latter available June 27, contain 21 tracks, with “Friends Like These” exclusive to these formats.

The Atlanta-based band, comprising Lee Jennings (vocals), Cody Weissinger (guitar), Caleb Freihaut (guitar/auxiliary), Robert Weston (bass), and Homer Umbanhowar (drums), has been recognized for blending “theatrical energy with deeply personal storytelling.” THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT has achieved notable radio success, securing the #1 spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase’s Active Rock charts in November with “Suffocate City (feat. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills).” Their song “Holy Water” (feat. Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch) has also reached #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and is in the Top Five on Mediabase’s Active Rock charts.

A montage video for “Evergreen” reflects THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT’s growth since partnering with Better Noise Music. The band’s campaign began in August 2022 with the release of “Voodoo Doll,” and they have since transitioned from playing smaller venues to drawing larger crowds at major festivals and touring with bands such as Ice Nine Kills. A European tour is scheduled for the fall.

The band also highlights its commitment to well-being in the music industry, supporting Music Support, a charity that aids individuals in the U.K. music industry facing substance use, addiction, or mental health challenges.
