US-Israel-Iran Conflict: Twenty Thai Crew Members Rescued in Oman as Search Intensifies for Three Missing After M.V. Mayuree Naree Incident
Brickinfo News Agency – Twenty Thai crew members from the vessel M.V. Mayuree Naree have been safely brought ashore in Oman following a maritime incident in the region. While the majority of the crew is now secure and receiving assistance, Precious Shipping Public Company Limited (PSL), the ship’s owner, confirmed that three other crew members remain missing. International rescue operations, led by the Royal Navy of Oman and supported by various Thai and global authorities, are currently operating at full capacity to locate the unaccounted personnel.
The rescued crew members were transported to land with the assistance of Omani authorities and are currently staying in temporary accommodation arranged by the company. PSL is coordinating with the Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat to facilitate their repatriation to Thailand. Meanwhile, the search for the three missing sailors involves a collaborative effort between Thailand’s Marine Department, the Royal Thai Navy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
Regarding the safety protocols prior to the incident, PSL stated that the vessel had implemented enhanced security measures and complied with all maritime security advisories. The company maintained regular communication with the UKMTO and the Royal Thai Navy throughout the voyage. Before departing from the Persian Gulf, a comprehensive risk assessment was conducted in consultation with professional maritime security advisers and insurers to ensure the vessel was suitable for transit under the prevailing conditions.
The company explained the decision-making process for the voyage, noting that: “In the absence of any specific warning advising the vessel not to proceed with the passage, the Company determined that proceeding with the transit through the Strait of Hormuz with enhanced security precautions was the appropriate course of action at that time.” This decision was made based on the information and security advisories available to the company and stakeholders at that moment.
PSL has reaffirmed that its highest priority is the safe recovery of the three missing crew members and the welfare of those rescued. The management also expressed their intent to continue efforts to locate the vessel itself while providing necessary support to the families of all affected crew members during this period. The company extended its gratitude to the international agencies involved in the ongoing rescue mission.
