Over 350 Thai Nationals Repatriated from Middle East as Conflict Escalates
Brickinfo News Agency – The Thai government has successfully repatriated 351 citizens from volatile zones in the Middle East following a series of missile and drone attacks across the region. While no Thai casualties have been reported to date, officials are urging remaining residents to evacuate high-risk areas immediately as hostilities show no signs of de-escalating.
The Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East held a briefing on March 10, 2026, at Government House to address the ongoing instability. Panidone Pachimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Department of Information, reported that recent military actions have targeted infrastructure, including an oil refinery in Bahrain, while casualties continue to rise in Lebanon. Despite international pressure, major parties to the conflict—including the United States, Israel, and Iran—have yet to return to the negotiating table.
Progress on the evacuation of Thai nationals remains a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On March 7, a final group of 23 people from the initial evacuation round in Iran arrived safely at Suvarnabhumi Airport via Van, Türkiye. An additional 69 citizens are currently in transit from Iran and are expected to arrive in Thailand on March 11.
Efforts are also underway to assist 14 Thai nationals currently being evacuated from Iraq. This operation is being coordinated by the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman, with the group traveling to a temporary operations center in Türkiye before returning home. “The Thai government places the highest priority on the safety of all Thai nationals,” stated Mr. Panidone during the briefing. He emphasized that the administration remains committed to a peaceful resolution, calling on all parties to “pursue diplomatic and peaceful protocol to resolve the conflict and prevent the situation from intensifying further.”
For those still residing in the region, the government advises maintaining constant contact with local embassies. Thai citizens are encouraged to update their location data to ensure rapid assistance if the security situation deteriorates. Authorities continue to coordinate with commercial airlines, such as Qatar Airways, to facilitate travel for those choosing to leave the conflict zones.
