JAS Secures Exclusive Premier League Broadcast Rights in Vietnam, Partners with FPT Telecom for Distribution
Brickinfo News Agency – Jasmine International PCL (JAS) has successfully secured the exclusive broadcast rights for the Premier League in Vietnam, further expanding its sports content portfolio in Southeast Asia. To maximize the value of this acquisition, JAS has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with FPT Telecom, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, to distribute the content through the FPT Play platform. This development follows JAS’s earlier success in obtaining exclusive rights for the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, where Monomax serves as the primary broadcasting platform.
Under this new agreement, JAS holds the sole rights to distribute Premier League content in Vietnam across multiple platforms, including Internet, satellite TV (DTH), digital terrestrial TV (DTT), cable TV, IPTV, and OTT services. The broadcast rights cover a period of five and a half seasons, officially commencing on January 1, 2026. This timeframe includes the latter part of the 2025/26 season and continues through five full consecutive seasons: 2026/27, 2027/28, 2028/29, 2029/30, and 2030/31.
The partnership with FPT Telecom leverages the robust infrastructure of a major telecommunications provider in Vietnam. FPT Play, the designated streaming platform, currently serves over 35 million user accounts, according to statistics from Decision Lab and the Vietnam Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). This collaboration ensures that Vietnamese football fans will have continuous access to top-tier matches starting from the launch date in early 2026.
Dr. Soraj Asavaprapha, Chief Executive Officer of Jasmine International PCL (JAS), addressed the long-term collaboration, stating, “This agreement stems from our acquisition of broadcast rights in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. Recognizing the strategic potential of Vietnam, we reached an agreement with the Premier League.” He outlined the operational goals, adding, “We have selected FPT Telecom as the distributor in Vietnam, with a first-year target of 1.5 million subscribers. This package includes nearly 200 matches from the 2025/26 season and another 1,900 matches over the next five seasons. All matches will be available on FPT Play with Vietnamese commentary, including live broadcasts in 4K resolution for select matches.”
Hoang Viet Anh, Chairman of FPT Telecom, emphasized the cultural significance of the league. “The Premier League is one of the oldest and most influential football competitions in Vietnam,” he said. “With strong infrastructure and cutting-edge technology, FPT Play is ready to open a new era of Premier League viewing in Vietnam, making it more interesting, accessible, and personalized for all fans.”
The acquisition was formally approved by the JAS Board of Directors during meeting No. 12/2025 held on Monday, December 8, 2025. JAS is set to enter into a Long Form contract, with the entire transaction expected to be finalized no later than December 31, 2025.
