Jackie Chan Alive and Well, Debunking Viral Death Hoax in 2025
Brickinfo News Agency – A viral story, primarily circulated through Arabic-language social media and then reaching Thai users, falsely claimed the death of global action star Jackie Chan. The misleading post featured a supposedly moving “last story” before his death, attributed to a close associate of the actor. However, a thorough fact-check by this news agency confirms the claims are entirely untrue.
International news sources and Jackie Chan’s official social media accounts show no announcements regarding his death. Further investigation, including using Google’s artificial intelligence tools, determined the story originated as a hoax. The images accompanying the false report were also found to be fabricated.

The investigation traced the viral story’s origin to a malicious website that falsely cited the reputable South China Morning Post while spinning a sensational and fabricated narrative about Chan’s life and passing. This is a common tactic: these fake news websites create sensational stories to lure users into clicking, generating revenue from high traffic and user interest. Similarly, social media pages that share these hoaxes profit from platform revenue sharing when their posts achieve high engagement, effectively misusing public sympathy for financial gain.
Chan, renowned for his work in films such as Rush Hour and Police Story, continues to be active. The false story serves as a reminder for users to exercise caution and verify information, especially emotionally charged content, before sharing it online to avoid supporting the spread of disinformation and online scams.
