BNK48 and CGM48 Release “Oh my pumpkin!” in Two Thai Versions to Celebrate AKB48’s 20th Anniversary

Brickinfo News Agency – BNK48 and CGM48, two prominent Thai idol groups, have officially released two versions of their new song “Oh my pumpkin!,” a track originally created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Japan’s AKB48. The song features two versions, one in Central Thai and one in the Northern Thai (Lanna) dialect. The release follows the debut of the Japanese version of the song on the program Ongaku no Hi on TBS.

The original AKB48 song, their 66th single, brought together a special selection of 22 members, including representatives from international sister groups. Among them are Hoop-Patalee Prasertteerachai, the captain of BNK48, and Lookked-Pimlapas Suwannoi, the captain of CGM48.

The Central Thai version of “Oh my pumpkin!” is led by center Hoop-Patalee Prasertteerachai. Other BNK48 members featured in this version include Blythe-Natransa Sirilapviboon, Earn-Wachiraphon Phatthanaphanit, Geleya-Napapak Chokkunanuntakul, Grace-Virunpat Thamrongpantavanich, Janry-Kalnyarat Panphiphat, L-Sirikorn Nilkasap, Marine-Kotchapon Ponchokchai, Mean-Nathanya Dulyapol, Monet-Parita Rirermkul, Pancake-Pitthayaporn Kiatthitinan, and Praew-Praewa Siriwattanasakdikul.

Meanwhile, the Northern Thai (Lanna) version of the song is centered by Lookked-Pimlapas Suwannoi. The accompanying CGM48 members are Else-Ananya Kusolkrong, Emma-Sasicha Wongwatanaanan, Ginna-Munchupa Moonklang, Jingjing-Aranya Kaewmalai, Kwan-Thidatip Jiraphan, Lingling-Sirathreethip Panachanapat, Nana-Penpichaya Boonsaner, Plone-Panalee aksornvanich, Prae-Nattapond Pinyoying, Runma-Tantaya shishida, and Shenae-Pawarisa Singphet.

The song’s lyrics describe the feeling of infatuation, using the term “pumpkin” to refer to a loved one. The song is set against a summer backdrop in Japan, depicting a chance encounter with a crush at a swimming pool during a holiday. The lyrics express a desire for the person to notice them. Both the Central Thai and Lanna versions of “Oh my pumpkin!” are now available on all major streaming platforms.
