Brickinfo News Agency – SiS Distribution (Thailand) Public Company Limited (SiS) has expanded into the renewable energy sector by introducing solar power solutions under a Private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model. This initiative enables businesses in Thailand to adopt solar energy without requiring upfront capital investment. SiS will co-invest in system infrastructure, manage installation, and provide complimentary maintenance for 15 years, aiming to reduce electricity costs for clients by up to 30%.

SiS has formed its first Private PPA agreement with Mplus Thai Sinsap Co., Ltd., a nationwide retailer of consumer electronics and appliances, in collaboration with Chang Solarcell Technology Co., Ltd. The Private PPA model is designed for mid-sized and large businesses with electricity consumption ranging from 100 to 500 kilowatts, or monthly electricity bills between 50,000 to 500,000 Baht. This includes various establishments such as manufacturing plants, hotels, warehouses, and hospitals.

Mr. Somchai Sittichaisrichart, Managing Director of SiS Distribution (Thailand) PCL., stated, “The shift to clean energy is no longer a choice—it’s a business imperative. SiS is ready to support Thai businesses in achieving sustainable growth while lowering their energy costs. Our Private PPA model enables customers to access solar power with no capital investment required—we cover the cost of equipment, installation, and ongoing system maintenance over a 15-year period.” He further added, “Our objective is to help customers reduce their electricity expenses by 10% to 30%, while simultaneously advancing their environmental and sustainability goals.”

For solar power generation, SiS has selected equipment from global manufacturers, including LONGi solar panels with TOPCon technology, Huawei inverters, SolarEdge inverters, and RRacks mounting systems. To deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions, SiS has partnered with Chang Solarcell Technology Co., Ltd., an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company specializing in solar system design and installation.

Mr. Wuttinan Rattanachotphinya, Managing Director of Chang Solarcell, noted, “Collaborating with SiS, an established and trusted organization with a nationwide presence, empowers us to deliver high-quality solar solutions to a broader customer base across Thailand—faster and more effectively.” Chang Solarcell will manage all system installation and support services throughout the contract duration.

Mplus Thai Sinsap Co., Ltd., with a monthly electricity consumption of approximately 72,000 Baht, is the first to adopt this new solar solution. Mr. Kongkiat Pipitpattanakorn, Chairman of Mplus Thai Sinsap, commented, “We are delighted to partner with SiS and Chang Solarcell in this initiative. It not only helps us reduce energy costs, but also aligns with our corporate social responsibility commitments by lowering carbon emissions.”

SiS anticipates that in its first year, the solar energy business will contribute approximately 10% of total revenue for its Energy Management business unit, representing a project capacity of 2 MWp and a value of around 40 million Baht. The company aims to increase this to 50% of the unit’s revenue by the following year. The Private PPA market in Thailand was valued at approximately 2 billion Baht in 2024 and is projected to grow significantly through 2025, with long-term potential reaching 5 gigawatts, representing a 20 billion Baht market within five years.
