Border Situation Between Thailand and Cambodia Day 3 Remains Tense Amidst Heavy Rainfall

Brickinfo News Agency – As of 4:00 PM on July 26, 2025, the 2nd Army Area Forward Command (2nd AAFC) reported that heavy rainfall continues to impact the Thai-Cambodian border, with both sides maintaining their positions. The situation has seen little change since noon. Evacuations of residents from risk areas are ongoing, with 97,431 people now moved to designated civilian assembly points across four provinces: Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani.

The 2nd AAFC confirmed that the conflict has not escalated due to the prevailing weather conditions. Despite the static military presence, the focus remains on civilian safety and support. Evacuation efforts have successfully relocated a significant number of residents. In Buriram Province, 8,363 individuals have been moved to one assembly point. Surin Province has seen 39,350 people evacuated to 65 points, while Sisaket Province has established 82 assembly points for 35,009 residents. In Ubon Ratchathani Province, 14,709 people have been moved to 76 locations. The total number of evacuees increased by 9,393 since the last report.

Regarding the impact on civilians, three villages in Buriram Province were affected by BM-21 rocket fire. These include Ban Nong Thanon in Kok Kwaan sub-district, Lahan Sai district, and Ban Sai Thao 10 Tai and Ban Sai Thao 8 Tai in Chanthaphet sub-district, Ban Kruat district. A total of 28 rockets impacted these areas. There have been no reported fatalities among the civilian population.

Royal Volunteer units are actively involved in providing assistance to affected citizens. Personnel from Jit Arsa 904, other royal volunteers, and general volunteers are facilitating aid at temporary shelters, assisting with the transport of belongings, and disseminating crucial information in the four affected provinces. Additionally, 129 Jit Arsa 904 officers, 2,480 citizen volunteers, and 220 Territorial Defense Student volunteers from nearby provinces are supporting these efforts.

Royal kitchens have been established across the four provinces to provide meals. Buriram Province has one royal kitchen and two mobile cooking vehicles, with an additional private restaurant operating at Chang Arena. Surin Province hosts three royal kitchens and two mobile cooking vehicles, located at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Surin Campus; Surindra Rajabhat University; and Sot Sueksa School in Prasat District. Sisaket Province has two royal kitchens and two mobile cooking vehicles at Kantha Laks Technical College and Benjalak Wittaya School, both in Kantharalak District. Ubon Ratchathani Province has one royal kitchen and two mobile cooking vehicles located at Det Udom District Office. From July 24 to July 26, 2025, a total of 100,100 meal boxes have been distributed to those in need. Furthermore, royal volunteers are assisting in the collection and distribution of donations of essential items, food, and beverages from government agencies, private sectors, and the public.
