Brickinfo News Agency – China has officially refuted recent allegations of providing military weapons or support to the Cambodian Armed Forces during the ongoing border dispute with Thailand. Beijing stated that all current Cambodian military hardware from China is a result of past military cooperation agreements, with no new support having been supplied.

On Friday, July 25, at 2:45 PM local time, Colonel Siwat Rattan-anant, Thai Army Assistant Military Attaché and Acting Defence Attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing, held an urgent meeting with the Office of International Military Cooperation (OIMC) of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China. Senior Colonel Sheng Wei, Deputy Director of the Asia Division, OIMC, represented China during the meeting. The Thai delegation formally presented a report titled “A Clash Incident on the Thailand–Cambodia Border.”

During the discussion, the Chinese side emphasized their position. Senior Colonel Sheng Wei stated, “Since tensions began along the Thailand–Cambodia border, China has not provided any military equipment to Cambodia for use against Thailand.” He further clarified, “All Chinese military hardware currently possessed by Cambodia is the result of historical cooperation projects.” The Chinese official also urged the public not to “believe fake news generated by malicious actors.”

The Chinese delegation specifically requested that this clarification be conveyed to the Thai public. This request was made in the interest of maintaining regional stability and fostering trust between the nations involved.
