Royal Concern for Thai-Cambodian Border Clash Victim in Buriram

His Majesty the King has expressed concern for a civilian injured by an artillery shell in Buriram following border clashes. Royal gifts were delivered to the victim, as residents are evacuated from affected areas.

Brickinfo News Agency – His Majesty the King has expressed concern for those injured in the recent clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border. In a gesture of support, the King has instructed the Governor of Buriram Province to deliver royal gifts to a civilian who sustained injuries.

On July 24, 2025, at 6:30 PM, His Majesty the King appointed Mr. Piya Pijanam, Governor of Buriram Province, to present a flower vase and baskets of royal gifts to Mr. Boonnam Duangprakhon, a 53-year-old resident of Kok Beng Nuea Village, Ban Kruat Subdistrict, Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province. Mr. Duangprakhon was injured when an artillery shell from the Cambodian military landed in Ban Kruat District around 9:00 AM on July 24, 2025. He was reportedly mending rice in his paddy field in Ban Yang Village, Ban Kruat Subdistrict, Ban Kruat District, when shrapnel caused injuries to his leg and right arm. He is currently receiving medical care at the Surgery and Orthopedics Building of Prakhon Chai Hospital in Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province, under close supervision by medical staff.

The clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers along the border on the morning of July 24, 2025, resulted in artillery shells landing in several subdistricts of Ban Kruat District. This incident led to one injury, Mr. Boonnam Duangprakhon, and also caused damage to two houses and the death of three cows. Authorities have initiated the evacuation of residents, particularly children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups, from four subdistricts in Ban Kruat to safer areas. Government agencies, private organizations, royal volunteers (Jit Arsa Phra Rajathan 904), and public volunteers are providing initial assistance to those affected.
