Cambodia Alleges Thai Soldiers Opened Fire on An Seh Base, Contradicting Prior Thai Reports of Provocations
Brickinfo News Agency – The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia has issued a public statement alleging that Thai soldiers opened fire on a Cambodian military position in the An Seh region on the morning of September 27, 2025, at approximately 11:52 AM. The Cambodian statement specifically mentioned the use of small arms and pistols directed at the Cambodian base. This report contrasts with earlier reports from the Thai side, which have consistently claimed Cambodian provocations and border incursions throughout the preceding month.
The Cambodian Ministry of National Defense stated that the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) will monitor the situation closely and give it the highest priority. Furthermore, the RCAF affirmed its readiness to defend the existing status of the nation’s territory.

The statement was delivered by General Malee Socheata, Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia. General Socheata asserted the RCAF’s commitment to fully and consistently respect and abide by the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand. She added that Cambodia would continue to “cooperate closely at all levels and seek concrete cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries, including a rapid return to normalcy.”
This alleged firing incident by the Thai side comes amid previous reports from Thailand detailing repeated Cambodian attempts at provocation over the past month. Thai reports had indicated multiple instances, including the alleged mobilization of local villagers in attempts to encroach upon Thai sovereign territory.
