True Maintains Small Cell Network Supporting Thai Military on Border Missions
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has confirmed its teams are actively monitoring and inspecting its specialized 5G and 4G Small Cell networks installed to support Thai military missions along various border provinces. The deployment, which began in July at the request of the government, is intended to provide secure and efficient communications for security operations while adhering to national telecommunications regulations.
The initiative utilizes Small Cell technology and Temporary Sites to establish localized mobile network coverage. This technology is engineered to confine signal transmission specifically to military operational areas, thereby minimizing the security risk of signals extending beyond designated zones. This allows personnel to use mobile communication and internet services more effectively for mission-related tasks and reduces communication difficulties within units.
This targeted network expansion is being conducted in compliance with measures from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) for controlling mobile towers near international borders. True Corporation noted that it continues to follow NBTC guidelines, which have included tower removal and height reduction to prevent signal spillage into neighboring countries. The Small Cell solution enables the provision of essential communication services for military personnel while respecting these regulatory controls.
Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at True Corporation Plc., stated, “We continuously coordinate with government agencies and all relevant units to support their missions. These quality checks are part of our ongoing monitoring and maintenance to ensure that the communication technology delivered to military units… supports diverse missions, whether for internal communications within military units or emergency coordination.”
