In a statement released at 2:25 PM, the Prime Minister asserted that Cambodian forces initiated the use of weapons and fired long-range projectiles into Thai territory, deeming it a clear violation of international law, human rights principles, and ethical conduct. The incident has reportedly impacted both officials and civilians.

The Prime Minister stated that Thailand has consistently pursued diplomatic negotiations to prevent escalation, avoid conflict, and minimize casualties. She emphasized Thailand’s consistent commitment to peaceful resolutions, believing it to be the most effective approach to international disputes.

According to reports from Thai security forces, all relevant agencies are fully engaged in addressing the situation. The Prime Minister expressed hope that current measures will bring an end to the violence and restore peace for the affected population. She voiced her support for all countermeasures undertaken by the Thai government, the military, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided they adhere to legal frameworks and international principles. Ms. Shinawatra also extended her well wishes to all officials defending the nation’s independence and sovereignty, as well as to residents in the affected areas.
