Cambodian forces opened fire
The Royal Thai Army reported on Thursday, July 24, 2025, that at approximately 7:35 AM, the task force responsible for the Ta Muean Prasat temple area detected an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), believed to be Cambodian, circling above Prasat Ta Muean Thom. The drone was flying at an altitude that made it visually undetectable.

Subsequently, Cambodian forces were observed moving weapons into position near the barbed wire fence. Six Cambodian personnel, fully armed with RPGs, approached the barbed wire in front of a Thai operational base. Thai forces attempted to de-escalate the situation through verbal negotiation to prevent further conflict. Thai units are maintaining vigilance along the entire border in anticipation of further developments.
At 8:20 AM, Cambodian forces opened fire at a location approximately 200 meters opposite the operational base, east of Prasat Ta Muean.
