Fact-Check: Viral Image of 19-Year-Old Claimed as Youngest Chinese Political Adviser Confirmed AI-Generated
Brickinfo News Agency – Viral social media claims alleging that a 19-year-old Chinese woman named Jiang Wenxuan became the youngest member and political adviser of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) have been confirmed as entirely fabricated through generative AI imagery, with no record of such an individual serving in the official political advisory body.
The claims gained traction online after foreign social media pages circulated photos depicting a young woman in formal business attire inside a conference hall, alleging she served in the 11th local committee before misleading narratives falsely elevated her to a national delegate at the Two Sessions in Beijing. However, official member registries of the CPPCC contain no record of Jiang Wenxuan, nor is there any official documentation validating her appointment as a delegate at local or national levels.

Verification and technical analysis conducted through Chinese reporting sources by Brickinfo News Agency identified multiple visual inconsistencies within the images. The subject’s clothing and the meeting background deviate from official Chinese legislative protocol. Crucially, the red delegate badge pinned to the suit lacks the authentic national emblem of the People’s Republic of China, displaying distorted, illegible text characteristic of synthetic media rendering.
These visual anomalies confirm that the images were synthesized using artificial intelligence tools before being coupled with a false narrative. The case highlights the growing challenge of AI-generated disinformation and synthetic persona creation circulating across political and social media channels.
