Changan Automobile Launches In-House SDA Pilot ADAS Across Three Tiers and Opens Pre-Orders for Nevo Q06
Brickinfo News Agency – Changan Automobile officially unveiled its proprietary advanced driver assistance system, designated SDA Pilot, introducing three hardware and software tiers—Pro, Max, and Ultra—alongside the opening of pre-orders for the Nevo Q06, the first production vehicle equipped with the Ultra configuration.
Developed internally following the automaker's initial research into intelligent driving technology that began in 2009, the platform represents the culmination of cumulative research and development investments exceeding 7.7 billion euros and an engineering division comprising over 7,500 specialists. The launch builds on previous automation milestones achieved by the company, including early forward collision warning and lane departure warning prototypes tested in 2011, mass production of Level 2 Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control systems in 2018, and the acquisition of China's official Level 3 conditional autonomous driving test licence plate on December 20, 2025.
The production-ready architecture is categorized into Pro, Max, and Ultra configurations, with an additional high-tier iteration planned for future deployment. The flagship Ultra variant incorporates a computing platform rated at 560 trillion operations per second (TOPS) and a 256-line LiDAR sensor, supporting Navigation on Autopilot across both urban and highway road networks, an automated parking assistance suite covering more than 400 practical scenarios, and 31 active safety features. The sensing array operates on 10 Hz high-frequency inference processing to detect environmental obstacles in compromised visibility conditions, including darkness, heavy precipitation, direct glare, and dense fog.
Control logic for SDA Pilot utilizes an end-to-end artificial intelligence model trained on more than 20 million segments of physical on-road driving data. Vehicle navigation and cabin controls interface through a multimodal system fusing visual inputs and natural language voice recognition, which logs individual user driving patterns over time to adjust vehicle operational responses.
System verification is conducted via the Changan SDA Lab, an engineering test facility running continuous virtual simulations across 400,000 operational scenarios. The testing infrastructure executes approximately 3.3 million kilometers of aggregate simulated mileage daily across digital environmental profiles representing 224 global regions to resolve edge-case navigational risks prior to production deployment.
Commercial availability began with the simultaneous launch of customer pre-orders for the Changan Nevo Q06 electric vehicle, which serves as the launch platform for the complete SDA Pilot Ultra sensor suite.
