SCGC Secures CSR Award 2026 from Ministry of Social Development and Human Security for Community and Environmental Initiatives

Brickinfo News Agency – SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, has been awarded the CSR Award 2026 by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in recognition of its social development frameworks, environmental programs, and community-level economic initiatives. The award was presented by Kantapong Rangsesawang, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, to Pichet Tangpanyarat, Vice President of Industrial Solutions & Partnership at SCGC.

The award program, organized by the Department of Social Development and Welfare through the Office of the National Social Welfare Promotion Committee, assesses organizations based on ISO 26000 guidelines and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Selection criteria require evidence of structured corporate social responsibility policies integrated directly into operational models, stakeholder engagement with local communities and state agencies, and verifiable metrics across economic, social, and environmental areas.

According to company data, SCGC’s social development framework focuses on four primary tracks: education, income generation, community wellness, and low-carbon transition adaptation. In 2025, company-led community enterprises, skills training programs, product distribution channels, and local procurement activities engaged more than 9,500 local participants, generating an estimated economic impact exceeding 58 million baht.

SCGC also directed resources into materials science applications to manage waste streams. Under the Nets Up Project, conducted alongside artisanal fishing groups and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, the organization recovered and recycled more than 42,000 kilograms of discarded nylon fishing nets into recycled marine-grade polymer materials, preventing plastic leakage into marine ecosystems while cycling raw materials back into industrial supply chains.
