Brickinfo News Agency – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence to lodge an official protest with the Interim Observer Team (IOT) following an incident where two Thai soldiers were injured by a landmine while on patrol near the border. The incident occurred in the Huai Ta Maria area of Sisaket Province. The Prime Minister expressed deep dissatisfaction with the situation and emphasized that the matter should be pursued to the fullest extent.

The incident was reported to the Prime Minister by the Royal Thai Army earlier today, November 10, 2025. Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat confirmed that the two soldiers sustained injuries after stepping on a landmine in the designated border patrol zone. Both injured personnel have reportedly been transferred for immediate medical treatment.

The strong reaction from the government underscores the severity of the border security issue and the presence of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in sensitive areas. The Premier’s instruction to lodge a protest with the IOT signifies a move to ensure international attention and accountability regarding the safety of Thai personnel operating near the border.

Spokesperson Siripong conveyed the Prime Minister’s direct quote concerning the welfare of the troops. “The Prime Minister instructed the Army and related agencies to provide full medical care for the injured, and he sends moral support to all personnel on duty along the border,” Siripong stated.
