True Corporation Deploys Enhanced 5G and 4G Network for Isan’s Major Buddhist Lent Festivals
Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has reinforced its 5G and 4G networks across three key provinces in northeastern Thailand (Isan) to ensure seamless connectivity for visitors attending major traditional festivals marking the end of Buddhist Lent. The network enhancements, which include the deployment of mobile sites and AI-powered 24-hour monitoring, are concentrated in Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Nong Khai to support cultural tourism during the celebratory period in October 2025.
The telecommunications provider deployed a range of integrated solutions to manage anticipated high traffic. These technical measures include the use of Cell-On-Wheels (COWs) mobile base stations and the installation of temporary signal towers. Network engineers are stationed on-site throughout the events, and signal parameters have been specifically tuned to user behaviour at the festival locations. Furthermore, True has expanded 5G/4G coverage along key transportation routes and in surrounding tourist areas to support the movement of both domestic and international visitors.
Network stability is managed around the clock from the Business Network Intelligent Center (BNIC), which utilizes AI technology for constant monitoring and management. This approach aims to guarantee a high-performance network experience for all True and dtac customers throughout the festivals. The events covered are the Prasat Phueng Procession & Long Boat Racing in Sakon Nakhon (now through October 7, 2025), the World Fire Boat Festival in Nakhon Phanom (now through October 8, 2025), and the Buddhist Lent Festival & Naga Fireballs in Nong Khai (with the highlight night on October 7, 2025).
Specific coverage boosts target key festival areas. In Nakhon Phanom, where the spectacular illuminated fire boats float along the Mekong River, signal density has been increased near the Governor’s Residence Museum, Provincial Hall, Naga Square, Wat Mahathat, and the Clock Tower. In Nong Khai, in anticipation of crowds for the mystical Naga Fireballs phenomenon, coverage extends along the Mekong River across six districts: Phon Phisai, Mueang Nong Khai, Tha Bo, Si Chiang Mai, Sangkhom, and Rattanawapi. For Sakon Nakhon’s Prasat Phueng (beeswax castle) displays and boat races, mobile coverage was enhanced across the main event area. True Corporation also set up engagement booths in Nakhon Phanom and Nong Khai, offering activities and special promotions for customers near 7-Eleven stores within the festival zones. The company stated its ongoing network preparations support communications for cultural tourism and Thailand’s soft power.
