Brickinfo News Agency – Six Royal Thai Air Force F-16 fighter jets conducted targeted airstrikes on two Cambodian military headquarters today following reports of Cambodian forces shelling Thai civilian homes and deploying landmines against Thai soldiers. The aerial operation, which aimed to neutralize heavy weapon emplacements, was completed in 20 minutes, with all aircraft safely returning to their base.

The F-16s were deployed at 11:00 AM to provide air support to the Royal Thai Army’s ground forces, who are engaged in defending Thai sovereignty along the Thai-Cambodian border. The primary objective of the mission was to eliminate Cambodian heavy weapon emplacements that had been reportedly used to fire artillery into Thai residential areas.

Precision armaments were used by the F-16s to strike targets at the Cambodian 8th Support Brigade Headquarters and the 9th Support Brigade Headquarters. These specific units were identified as being responsible for the artillery attacks on Thai homes and for the deployment of landmines against Thai troops.

Following the successful airstrikes, at 11:40 AM, Thai military personnel took immediate action to destroy the cable car and stairs leading up Phnom Makheua in Sisaket Province. This measure appears to be a defensive maneuver to further secure the border region. The Royal Thai Air Force confirmed the safe return of all six F-16 aircraft to their operational base after the 20-minute mission.
