Brickinfo News Agency – Tensions escalated on the Thai-Cambodian border this morning, July 24, 2025, near the Ta Muen Thom temple complex. The Thai Army reported a Cambodian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was observed in the vicinity of Ta Muean Thom temple, followed by Cambodian troops moving into a forward position and an exchange of fire.

At approximately 7:35 AM, the specific task force overseeing the Ta Muean temple area detected a Cambodian UAV flying near Ta Muean Thom temple. The drone was flying at an altitude that rendered it invisible from the ground.

Subsequently, Cambodian forces were observed bringing weapons to a position in front of a barbed-wire fence. Six Cambodian personnel, fully armed, including with RPGs, then approached the barbed-wire fence near a Thai operational base. Thai forces verbally engaged the Cambodian soldiers in an attempt to de-escalate the situation and prevent conflict. Thai units maintained a state of readiness along the border.

At 8:20 AM, Cambodian forces opened fire. The shots originated from a position approximately 200 meters opposite the Thai operational base, specifically to the east of the Ta Muean temple.
