True Corporation deploys AI-driven Autonomous Network Level 4.0 to boost 5G and broadband coverage across Thailand for the 2026 Songkran Festival amid rising fuel costs.

Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has announced a comprehensive upgrade of its 5G and 4G network infrastructure across Thailand to accommodate shifting consumer behaviors during the 2026 Songkran Festival. As record-high fuel prices are expected to influence travel patterns—leading many to favor shorter trips, local city celebrations, or extended stays at highway rest stops—the provider has integrated Autonomous Network Level 4.0 AI to ensure seamless connectivity for both domestic travelers and international tourists throughout the long holiday.

The network expansion targets five strategic areas: major tourist attractions and temples, Songkran water celebration venues, transport hubs, interprovincial road networks, and gas station rest areas. In Bangkok, the company has specifically enhanced In-Building Coverage (IBC) within shopping malls and indoor venues to support those opting for urban activities such as dining and cinema, while deploying Cells on Wheels (COWs) and temporary base stations at high-density sites like Khaosan Road, Silom, and major music festivals.

Mr. Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Network Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, stated, “We are not only planning network capacity for Songkran travel but also preparing for changing usage behavior. Traditionally, Songkran traffic concentrated in major destinations and long-distance travel. This year, we expect a more distributed and flexible pattern across interprovincial travel, local activities, and home usage. Digital demand will remain high but spread across major event locations, transport routes, rest areas, and communities, alongside continued growth in home broadband usage.”

To manage the complex surge in data demand, True is utilizing Intent-Based Operation (IBO), an AI-driven system certified by the TM Forum. This technology functions as a 24-hour virtual operations team, capable of predicting traffic congestion and dynamically redistributing network loads in real-time. This automated management is designed to maintain high performance for streaming, gaming, and video calls, even in areas experiencing extreme user density.

Complementing the automated systems, True has activated its Business Network Intelligence Center (BNIC) and a dedicated War Room to monitor network health around the clock. The company is also collaborating with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to ensure service stability. “This year’s network readiness reflects True’s role in strengthening digital infrastructure to support real-life usage across all scenarios, accommodating both travel demand and more flexible lifestyles of Thai consumers,” Mr. Khurrum added.

In addition to technical readiness, the company is partnering with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to provide digital support and exclusive privileges at major event zones, including Lumpini and Benjakitti Parks. These initiatives include providing waterproof pouches for Tourist SIM users and special amenities for local subscribers, aimed at facilitating a connected experience as Thailand celebrates its traditional New Year.
