Brickinfo News Agency – Ericsson has announced a strategic partnership with Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to integrate its global “Ericsson Educate” program into the country’s Digital Skills Roadmap. Revealed during the 120th anniversary of Ericsson’s operations in Thailand, the initiative aims to provide Thai students and the workforce with free access to specialized training in 21st-century technologies, including 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI), to support the nation’s long-term digital transformation goals.

The collaboration aligns with depa’s “Coding Thailand 2026: AI Inspires the Future” project, focusing on upskilling the next generation of Thai talent. The Ericsson Educate platform offers online courses curated by global experts, covering essential fields such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, and Automation. This digital curriculum is designed to be accessible at any time, providing foundational knowledge required for Thailand’s evolving mobile ecosystem and industrial transformation.

“Celebrating 120 years in Thailand is a testament to our enduring dedication to the nation’s progress,” stated Anders Rian, Head of Ericsson Thailand. “We have grown alongside Thailand, building the infrastructure that has kept the country connected through decades of change. We are committed to further driving Thailand’s future connectivity to support the growth and digital transformation of government and industry alike. We know that upskilling Thailand’s youth and workforce will be critical to the realization of these ambitions, and this is why we are delighted to be part of depa’s Digital Skills Roadmap.”

The initiative arrives as Thailand continues its journey toward becoming a leading digital economy under the 20-year Digital Development Master Plan. By providing these resources at no cost, the partnership seeks to bridge the digital literacy gap and prepare a workforce capable of architecting the country’s technological future. The program’s integration into the national roadmap ensures that learners can gain insights directly from industry leaders in telecommunications.

“We are proud to work alongside Ericsson to bring their global expertise directly to the next generation of Thai talent,” said Dr. Supakorn Siddhichai, Acting President/CEO of depa. “As we launch ‘Coding Thailand 2026: AI Inspires the Future,’ Ericsson’s cutting-edge connectivity and technological perspective are invaluable. We are eager to benefit from their global insights, which will help our youth move beyond digital literacy toward becoming the innovative architects of Thailand’s digital future.”

The historical significance of the partnership was also highlighted by Anna Hammargren, Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, who noted the long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. Ericsson’s presence in Thailand dates back nearly to the beginning of these bilateral relations, evolving from early telephony to the current rollout of 5G infrastructure. This latest educational venture represents a continuation of that history, focusing on human capital as a catalyst for sustainable development.
