KTC Hosts FIT Talk 22 to Advocate for Holistic Life Planning and Sustainable Employee Well-being
Brickinfo News Agency – Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) recently organized the “KTC FIT Talk 22: Because of Love – Plan Today, Leave No Burden Behind” forum to address the importance of proactive life management. The event focused on encouraging individuals to prepare for health, financial, and emotional challenges to ensure that unexpected life transitions do not become a burden for loved ones. This initiative aligns with KTC’s broader strategy of Holistic Employee Care, aiming to establish a Happy and Safe Workplace as a foundation for long-term organizational sustainability.
Dr. Nittha Uerarimith, Founder of Koon Hospital, clarified the misconceptions surrounding palliative care during the forum, noting that it is a holistic approach starting early in a serious illness rather than just end-of-life care. “Suffering during vulnerable moments does not come only from disease. It also comes from a lack of acceptance and communication. Preparing the heart is as important as preparing legal or financial documents. A peaceful farewell begins with a peaceful mind,” she stated. To support this, Koon Hospital has partnered with KTC to provide health-related privileges that help reduce financial burdens for Thai families.
In terms of practical preparation, Ms. Pinchada Phongnopakun, Founder of Baojai Family and a certified death planner, introduced the “Baojai Book” as a tool for communicating care preferences and legal wishes. She emphasized that everyone has the right to a “good death” through advance planning. Reflecting on a previous program conducted for KTC employees, she observed how participants were moved to strengthen their family relationships after reflecting on their own mortality and the responsibilities they might leave behind.
The forum also featured a personal perspective from Ms. Kattarin Prayukwittayathan, an early-stage cancer survivor and founder of Chomphiny essential oils. She shared her experience of facing a health crisis and business collapse simultaneously, which prompted her to restructure her finances and insurance. “The first question I asked myself was: If I’m gone, what will happen to my family? Preparing while we are healthy is a gift we can give ourselves and the people we love,” she remarked, highlighting the necessity of having protective systems in place before a crisis occurs.
Ms. Sutprathana Damrongchaitham, Head of Human Resources & Organization Development at KTC, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Work-Life Integration. She explained that the organization views employees as family and provides resources ranging from mental health programs to financial literacy and end-of-life planning. “Before trying not to burden others, we must make sure we are not a burden to ourselves. When employees feel supported, they are empowered to deliver better service and face the future with confidence,” she concluded.
