Brickinfo News Agency – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has stepped in to coordinate assistance for stranded passengers and airport personnel at Suvarnabhumi Airport following severe flight disruptions, baggage handling delays, and local flood impacts.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool visited Suvarnabhumi Airport to inspect operations and offer support to ground staff dealing with significant baggage backlogs affecting Thai Airways and other carriers. Thapanee issued an apology to affected travelers, emphasizing that resolving the disruption remains the primary operational focus.

“On behalf of the Thai people, I sincerely apologize to all travelers who have experienced difficulties at our airports, particularly with flight disruptions and baggage handling,” Thapanee stated. “Our priority is clear: to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and restore normal operations.”

(TPC). The coordinated effort aims to expedite baggage returns and assist stranded international visitors. Authorities project operational recovery within 24 to 48 hours.

Alongside disruption relief, the TAT and TPC deployed joint teams to assist individuals affected by recent flooding around the airport perimeter. Over September 28 and 29, 2026, the agencies prepared and distributed more than 1,000 food and beverage sets—including instant noodles, bottled water, and ready-to-eat meals—to stranded travelers, immigration officers, and operational personnel stationed throughout the passenger terminal.
