Thai Airways Expedites Delayed Baggage Delivery Following Flood Disruptions at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Brickinfo News Agency – Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is expediting the sorting and delivery of passenger baggage delayed by heavy rainfall and flash floods that disrupted ground operations at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The national carrier has deployed extra personnel and equipment to clear the remaining backlog and return luggage to affected travellers as quickly as possible.

Chai Eamsiri, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways International, issued a formal apology to passengers for the inconvenience caused by the operational disruption. He stated that the airline is committing full resources to reunite passengers with their belongings and will maintain close operational oversight until every delayed bag is delivered.

Ground operations faced substantial backlogs after extreme weather hit the Bangkok metropolitan area on 26–27 September 2026, leaving luggage from 52 flights delayed across the terminal system. Ground handling personnel are continuously delivering sorted baggage to passengers who have registered their delivery details with the carrier.

Flight schedules also felt the residual impact on 28 September 2026, with 34 flights experiencing operational delays. Airline officials reported that ramp and baggage conditions are steadily improving as floodwaters recede from access routes, allowing stranded ground crews to return to duty and restore handling capacity.
