Speaking at the True Partner Forum 2026 held under the theme “Smarter Together: AI for Sustainable Partnerships” in Bangkok, corporate executives outlined plans to transition standard procurement operations into strategic collaborations. The initiative focuses on addressing growing data demand while mitigating climate impact, as GSMA reports indicate that mobile data traffic in the Asia-Pacific region rose by 350% between 2019 and 2024 amid ongoing renewable energy access challenges.

Sigve Brekke, Group Chief Executive Officer of True Corporation Plc, stated that rising consumer demand for digital infrastructure, IoT devices, and cloud computing requires continuous network upgrades alongside collective climate accountability. He noted that strategic partnerships are essential to co-developing operational solutions that handle increasing network loads following the integration of the True and dtac networks without increasing environmental strain.

From an operational perspective, the telecommunications company is implementing artificial intelligence across procurement workflows. The system is designed to consolidate supplier data, improve transaction speed and accuracy, automate repetitive administrative tasks, and enhance transparency by integrating vendor performance records, cost metrics, and ESG compliance data directly into corporate decision-making.

On the environmental front, Chief Sustainability Officer Dr. Naetchanok Wipatasinlapin outlined the company’s emission milestones, targeting a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 operational greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and an overall 90% reduction across all scopes by 2050. Because indirect Scope 3 emissions encompass upstream and downstream supply activities, True has provided business partners with free access to its specialized GHG Emission Platform to measure, calculate, and verify carbon outputs under strict data security protocols.

All key business partners have completed ESG self-assessments and fulfilled Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas reporting through the platform. The verified emissions data is structured to help partners qualify for green financing pathways, facilitating investments in renewable energy, energy-efficient equipment, and low-carbon technologies.
