Thailand’s Nissan Hub Begins Production of All-New Kicks e-POWER to Lead ASEAN Market
Brickinfo News Agency – Nissan Thailand has officially commenced the production of the All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER at its manufacturing facility in Thailand, solidifying the country’s position as a strategic production and export hub for the ASEAN region. This latest model, which integrates Nissan’s proprietary electrified powertrain technology, is scheduled for official delivery to Thai customers starting in May 2026. The move highlights Thailand’s growing importance in Nissan’s global electrification strategy and its capability to produce high-tech vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
The All-New Nissan Kicks e-POWER recently made its debut at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, where it garnered attention for its bold design and the introduction of ProPILOT, Nissan’s advanced driver assistance system, to the Thai market. The production line in Thailand is fully integrated to handle the specific requirements of the e-POWER technology, which allows drivers to experience electric vehicle performance without the need for external charging.
Shohei Yamazaki, Chairperson of the Management Committee for Japan/ASEAN & Affiliate Companies at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., emphasized the company’s long-standing relationship with the country during the ceremony. “Nissan has operated in Thailand for more than 73 years, continuously strengthening our products and manufacturing capabilities to meet evolving customer needs. Today, we mark an important milestone as we begin production of the All-New NISSAN KICKS e-POWER, showcasing the capabilities of our local talent in delivering products with Japanese quality,” Yamazaki stated.
The start-of-production event was attended by high-ranking executives from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and their long-term local partner, Siam Motors Group. Key figures included Toshihiro Fujiki, Corporate Executive for Global Aftersales, alongside Dr. Phornthep Phornprapha and Prakasit Phornprapha from Siam Motors Group. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort to maintain Thailand as a competitive manufacturing base capable of meeting international standards.
By localizing the production of the e-POWER model and its components, Nissan aims to streamline its supply chain and enhance its responsiveness to the Southeast Asian automotive market. The company continues to focus on its electrification strategy, utilizing Thailand’s skilled workforce and infrastructure to drive the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions across the region.
