MHESI Fair 2025 Spotlights Practical Research and ‘ThaiWater’ App for Public Use
Brickinfo News Agency – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) is currently hosting the MHESI Fair 2025 until August 17 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event showcases tangible research and technological innovations aimed at improving the quality of life for the Thai public, with a key highlight being the “ThaiWater Application,” designed to make complex water and weather data accessible to everyone.
The fair is organized under the main concept ‘Universe of SRI’ (Science, Research, and Innovation), aligning with MHESI’s policy to utilize research for national development. At ZONE D: VALLEY OF GROWTH, Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) presents research outputs ready for application in business and society, covering fields such as Medicine and Health, Deep Technology, and Environment. This zone also includes the interactive SRI Playground with Art & Science activities. Another section, the ‘Thai Tam Tueng’ zone by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, displays award-winning Thai-made machinery, including a “Smart Pick and Place Robot” and inventions from the STI Inventions Contest 2025.
A major focus of the event is ZONE E: LIVING DISTRICT, which is dedicated to innovations for future living. A central exhibit, “from the Sky, down to the Mountains, into the Sea,” is presented by the Hydro Informatics Institute. It explains holistic water management and introduces the “ThaiWater Application”, an intelligent tool that simplifies water and weather information for practical, daily use. This exhibition draws upon concepts from the royal initiatives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
Within the same zone, the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) features an “AI for Health and Wellness” theme, demonstrating technologies like Telehealth and IoT-integrated health screening devices for quick health assessments. Additionally, the Area-Based Development Administration Office (ARDA) exhibits community-based innovations and cultural products that blend traditional and contemporary art from across Thailand’s four regions, showcasing the results of area-based development research.
The fair’s schedule for August 16 includes programs for students focused on international cultural exchange and the MHESI Music Variety Awards 2025, a university-level band competition with a prize pool of 640,000 baht. The MHESI Fair 2025 is held in Halls 1-4 on the G Floor, concurrently with the NST Fair 2025 in Halls 5-6 on the LG Floor. The event is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM through August 16, and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on its final day, August 17.
