FAT Ice Race

Brickinfo News Agency – Bentley Motors has officially revealed the Bentayga X Concept at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, marking the debut of a prototype specifically engineered for rugged terrain. Developed to explore the potential of a more focused off-road Bentley, the concept serves as a platform to gather feedback for future production possibilities. The reveal also signals the beginning of a multi-year brand partnership between the British luxury carmaker and FAT International, an organization known for its deep roots in motorsport and contemporary automotive culture.

The Bentayga X Concept is built upon the technical foundation of the Bentayga Speed, utilizing a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 650 PS. Power is delivered through an eight-speed transmission to a permanent four-wheel drive system. To handle demanding environments, the vehicle’s chassis has been significantly modified, featuring an increased track width of 120 mm for improved stability and a ride height raised by 55 mm. These adjustments result in a total ground clearance of nearly 310 mm and a wading depth exceeding 550 mm.

The vehicle’s stance is defined by specialized 22-inch forged one-piece wheels designed by Brixton, wrapped in large aspect ratio off-road tyres. To accommodate the wider track and larger rubber, the wheel arches have been extended outward by 40 mm. Functional exterior additions include roof-mounted storage, four high-intensity spotlights, and front-mounted twin towing eyes. For the exhibition, the concept also features a titanium sports exhaust system from Akrapovic and carries an electric Bambino-size Go Kart on its roof, bringing the total vehicle height to 2.49 metres.

The debut at Zell am See is part of a broader exhibition where Bentley is showcasing its high-performance lineup. Joining the concept on the ice are the Continental GT S, making its global dynamic debut, and the Speed Six Continuation Series “Car Zero” from Mulliner. The event features professional demonstrations, including broadcaster Chris Harris driving a Bentayga Speed in the Skijöring event, towing freestyle skier Hedvig Wessel, while racing driver Laura Villars pilots the Continental GT S.

Bentley’s involvement with FAT International will extend beyond the Austrian Alps. The partnership is scheduled to continue at the FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, later this February, followed by a dedicated event at FAT Mankei in Austria. This collaboration aligns Bentley with FAT’s modern mission of revitalizing grassroots motorsports through initiatives like the FAT Karting League, which utilizes F1-precision electric karts to build a global racing community.
