Brickinfo News Agency – AIS Business has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei Cloud to develop end-to-end digital infrastructure for Thailand’s manufacturing sector. The partnership combines AIS Business’s network capabilities with Huawei Cloud’s artificial intelligence and cloud technologies to accelerate the adoption of intelligent manufacturing solutions across the country.

Under the agreement, the two companies will create an integrated technological foundation connecting factory machinery, operational technology, and enterprise systems via 5G Private Networks, fiber infrastructure, and secure connectivity solutions. Data collected from production lines will be processed on cloud platforms using GPU computing capabilities, enabling real-time analytics and industrial AI applications. The partnership aims to support local manufacturers and attract foreign investors looking to expand production bases in Thailand.

The initiative targets key economic metrics within the industrial sector. According to World Bank data cited in the agreement, Thailand’s industrial sector accounted for approximately 25% of the national GDP in 2024 and employed over 6.2 million workers, representing 16% of total employment.

“Manufacturing is one of the key drivers of Thailand’s economy,” said Phupa Akavipat, Chief Enterprise Business Officer of Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited. “Given the importance of manufacturing to the country, we must work together to strengthen the sector’s capabilities and prepare it for global competition, which is increasingly being driven by data, AI, automation, and new manufacturing technologies. This transformation requires a digital infrastructure that can securely and reliably connect Network, Cloud, Data, and AI with factory systems.”

The joint venture focuses on practical applications including AI-powered quality inspection, predictive maintenance, real-time factory monitoring, and production line optimization. Additionally, the infrastructure supports connected robotics, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and unified industrial data platforms for enterprise digital twins and autonomous operations.

“The future of manufacturing will no longer be defined by production capacity alone, but by the ability to turn data into business outcomes quickly and accurately,” said Celine Chao, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Cloud Thailand. “By bringing together Huawei Cloud’s technologies and global manufacturing expertise with AIS Business’s digital infrastructure, solutions, and deep understanding of Thailand’s industrial sector, in its role as our Strategic Local Reseller Partner, we aim to help manufacturers transition towards intelligent production.”
