Brickinfo News Agency – True Corporation has intensified its 5G and 4G signal regulations along the Thailand-Laos border to disrupt the communication networks used by transnational scammer gangs. While the initiative focuses on cutting off illegal signals leaking into neighboring territories, the company is simultaneously deploying over 100 network enhancement points to ensure that Thai residents in remote riverside communities maintain access to essential digital services, including the upcoming “Thai Chuay Thai Plus” government stimulus scheme.

The operation, led by top executives in Nong Khai province, specifically targeted high-risk zones like Si Chiang Mai district. This area has been identified as a critical point for potential cross-border signal misuse by call center networks. To address this, True has utilized AI-driven real-time anomaly detection through its Business and Network Intelligence Center (BNIC) and established a dedicated “war room” to identify SIM box activity 24/7. These technical measures are designed to contain signals strictly within Thai territory without disconnecting legitimate local users.

Mr. Khurrum Ashfaque, Chief Network Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, stated, “True Corporation continues to enhance network performance along the Thailand–Laos border to combat call center scam gangs, particularly in Si Chiang Mai district, Nong Khai. At the same time, we remain mindful of the impact on local communities. Our teams have been on the ground to assess service quality and gather feedback. To date, we have deployed more than 100 network enhancement points across upper northeastern border areas to ensure uninterrupted usage for residents.”

The optimization strategy spans five key border provinces: Loei, Bueng Kan, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, and Nong Khai. Technical teams have adjusted antenna directions, transmission power, and base station density to refine the Cell Radius. To mitigate any drop in internet quality caused by these strict signal restrictions, the company is installing Small Cells and Femtocells in residential areas. These efforts are crucial as the Thai government prepares to launch the “Thai Chuay Thai Khon La Khrueng Plus” program in June 2026, which provides 4,000 baht in financial aid via the Paotang application.

Beyond signal management, the company is aligning with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to implement enhanced security protocols. These include biometric SIM registration, Liveness Detection technology, and strict limits on the number of SIM cards held per individual. By integrating these safety measures with precise network engineering, the company aims to protect the public from fraud while supporting the digital economy along the Mekong River.
