“From Ashes To New” Drops Visceral New Single “Drag Me” Ahead of Major Tour News
Brickinfo News Agency – Lancaster-based alternative metal outfit From Ashes To New has officially closed out their 2025 release schedule with the launch of their latest single, “Drag Me.” Released on December 5 via Better Noise Music, the track follows the band’s established pattern of blending intense sonics with introspective themes, serving as a direct follow-up to their mid-year release.
The new track dives deep into concepts of internal conflict and mental struggle. Vocalist Matt Brandyberry explained that the songwriting process focused on the sensation of being at war with oneself. “We wanted to create a song about feeling trapped in a war with yourself, when your inner demons pull harder than your better intentions can push,” Brandyberry stated regarding the lyrical content. He further elaborated that the track highlights a specific realization: “The real fight isn’t against the world, it’s against the reflection staring back at you.”
“Drag Me” arrives as the successor to “New Disease,” which the band released earlier this year on July 25. That track marked their first fresh material following the June 2024 release of the Blackout (Deluxe) album. The current lineup—consisting of Brandyberry, vocalist Danny Case, guitarists Lance Dowdle and Jimmy Bennett, and drummer Maty Madiro—continues to utilize their signature mix of hard rock, rap, and electronic elements, a stylistic combination that has previously secured them top positions on Spotify and iTunes Rock and Metal charts globally.
The group’s 2023 album, Blackout, served as a prequel to their 2016 debut Day One and resonated with listeners by mirroring the unrest felt during the 2020 pandemic era. The record and its subsequent deluxe edition have garnered substantial attention, accumulating over 310 million lifetime global streams. Critics have noted the band’s ability to recall the heavy music energy of the late 90s and early 2000s while delivering arena-sized choruses suitable for modern audiences.
As the band wraps up the year with this release, they have hinted at significant plans for the immediate future. While specific dates and venues have not yet been disclosed, From Ashes To New has confirmed that a massive tour announcement is impending, signaling a rigorous schedule for the group moving forward.
