Gartner Forecasts Worldwide AI Spending to Exceed $1.5 Trillion in 2025

Brickinfo News Agency – A new forecast from Gartner, Inc., a business and technology insights company, projects that worldwide spending on artificial intelligence (AI) will reach nearly $1.5 trillion in 2025. This significant investment is driven by the continuous demand for AI capabilities and is expected to fuel robust spending across IT infrastructure. The report also forecasts that global AI spending will exceed $2 trillion by 2026.

The increase in AI investment is attributed to the expansion of AI infrastructure, particularly as major hyperscalers—large cloud service providers—continue to increase their investments in data centers with AI-optimized hardware and GPUs. This push for scaling services is a key factor. Furthermore, the AI investment landscape is broadening beyond established U.S. technology companies, with Chinese firms and new AI cloud providers entering the market. Venture capital funding is also providing momentum for this growth.

John-David Lovelock, a Distinguished VP Analyst at Gartner, commented on the findings, stating, “The forecast assumes continued investment in AI infrastructure expansion, as major hyperscalers continue to increase investments in data centers with AI-optimized hardware and GPUs to scale their services.” He added that the “AI investment landscape is also expanding beyond traditional U.S. tech giants, including Chinese companies and new AI cloud providers. Furthermore, venture capital investment in AI providers is providing additional tailwinds for AI spending.”

Looking ahead to 2026, the growth in AI spending is anticipated to be heavily influenced by the integration of AI into consumer products like smartphones and PCs, in addition to ongoing infrastructure development.
